Mountain Buggy Warranty
Mountain Buggy Pushchairs are manufactured by Tritec Manufacturing Ltd an
ISO 9002
accredited company, they comply with
British Standard BS7409:1996
In the the design and build quality of the Mountain Buggy pushchairs every effort is made to ensure that the product you buy not only does the job it is designed for...but keeps on doing it
What the Warranty Covers
For pushchairs purchased before 2008 the Mountain Buggy Warranty covers defects in workmanship or materials for one year from the date of purchase. From the launch of the 2008 model the warranty was extended to three years. They will repair, or at their option replace any part, which is found to be defective within the warranty period.
What the Warranty DOES NOT Cover
Pick up, delivery or service calls - if you need to return the pushchair to the Mountain Buggy distributor or retailer, then the repair itself will be covered by the warranty but the cost of returning it is not.
Temporary replacement while the pushchair is being repaired or assessed
Damage to tyres, tubes and handle bar grips
Instruction or assistance with wheel assembly or set up of pushchair
Corrosion or fabric damage, if the pushchair has been used or stored in extreme environmental conditions, e.g. high humidty, salt spray
Deterioration due to lack of maintenance and cleaning as required in the manufacturer's instructions
Normal wear and tear or damage to the product caused by accidents, misuse or act of nature
Repairs when the product has been dismantled, repaired, modified or serviced by other than an authorised agent
Repairs when the pushchair has not been used for normal use and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
Why is the list of things the warranty covers so short and the list of things not covered so long ?
Mainly because workmanship and materials are the only things they have control over. They cannot control how you use your pushchair or how well you look after it. Anything you buy will be subject to normal 'wear an tear', accidental damage or neglect - you are responsible for taking reasonable care of your pushchair.
Apart from using common sense the two things we would highlight from experience are:
corrosion or fabric damage due to salt spray...salt water can be very corrosive to metals. This doesn't mean that you cannot take your Mountain Buggy to the seaside just remember to hose it down afterwards to remove any salt. Also don't submerse the wheel bearings in the sea.
accident damage, one of the most dangerous things you can do is to give your pushchair to an airline. It may seem common sense to you not to put it at the bottom of the luggage hold and load a ton of luggage on it - but it isn't to them ! (try to get your pushchair as close as possible to the aircraft steps so that it goes on top of the luggage)
